§ Research Log

Research Log

A git-committed, mentor-visible record of what moved on each paper and which of Anderson's eight modeling steps the work advanced. Each entry is durable; the commit hash ties it to a concrete diff.

Why this page exists. The main lab page has an in-page research log that lives in your browser's localStorage — frictionless for daily capture, but invisible to anyone else. This page is the curated, public version. Entries are loaded from entries.json committed to the repo, so a mentor reading this URL sees the same history Henry sees, and every entry is tied to a real git revision.

Anderson's 8 modeling steps — legend

  1. find — identify a real situation worth modeling
  2. mathematize — choose variables, units, and equations
  3. state ideal — write down the idealized problem explicitly
  4. solve — produce a symbolic or numerical answer
  5. analyze — study limits, sensitivity, dimensional checks
  6. verify — compare to physical or external data
  7. transfer — apply the method to a new situation
  8. iterate — refine the model when it disagrees with reality
